Recently, the semi-final results of the 10th "Maker China" High-end Scientific Instrument Equipment and Sensor SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were officially announced. After layers of selection and fierce competition, Metachip stood out from 182 outstanding participating projects nationwide with its self-developed "Carbon-based Nitrogen-Hydrogen Tracer Leak Detection Technology" project, successfully advancing to the enterprise group finals!

"Maker China": A National-level Top Stage for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"Maker China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is a national-level authoritative competition guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, focusing on industrial frontiers and empowering SME development. Since its inception, the competition has become a cradle for discovering and cultivating "Specialized, Refined, Differential, and Innovation" enterprises, and is an important yardstick for measuring the innovation capability and development potential of SMEs.
The "High-end Scientific Instrument Equipment and Sensor Special Competition" we participated in is the top priority of the "Maker China" competition. Jointly hosted by the Cyber Security Industry Development Center of the MIIT, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and other units, this special competition focuses on "bottleneck" key technology areas, aiming to excavate and cultivate a batch of hardcore technology projects capable of breaking technological barriers and leading industrial upgrades.
This special competition attracted 182 projects nationwide. After strict screening in the preliminary round, only 54 enterprise group projects entered the semi-finals. The semi-final roadshow gathered top technical and investment experts, and finally only 18 enterprise group projects could stand on the final stage. Overcoming all obstacles, the honor is hard-earned!

Our Project: Carbon-based Nitrogen-Hydrogen Tracer Leak Detection Technology
Gaining recognition from a national-level platform stems from our dedication to technology and deep insight into the market. Our participating project — "Carbon-based Nitrogen-Hydrogen Tracer Leak Detection Technology", aims to solve a pain point that has long plagued China's manufacturing industry.

• Market Pain Point: In industrial production, product leak detection is crucial. However, the traditional high-precision helium mass spectrometry leak detection has high equipment and gas costs, making it "unaffordable" for the vast number of SMEs; while traditional bubble leak detection has low accuracy and poor efficiency, unable to meet increasingly high quality requirements, resulting in an awkward situation of "poor detection".
• Our Solution: We innovatively proposed a new choice that is precise, efficient, and economical.

○ Core Technology: The "heart" of the project is our self-developed Carbon Nanotube Transistor Sensing Technology. This carbon-based sensor has unparalleled sensitivity and nanosecond-level response speed to hydrogen molecules, just like a super-sensitive "electronic nose".
○ Working Principle: We use cheap, safe, and environmentally friendly nitrogen-hydrogen mixed gas as tracer gas. When trace hydrogen overflows from the leak point, our carbon sensor can capture it instantly, achieving ultra-high precision leak detection as low as 5*10⁻⁷ mbar·l/s, with performance comparable to expensive helium detection.
• Market Verification: Our technology is not a castle in the air.
○ Leak Detector Project: The Nitrogen-Hydrogen Tracer Leak Detector participating in this competition has entered the customer trial stage in South China, with positive initial feedback.
○ Technology Endorsement: To verify the core technology, another Carbon-based Hydrogen Detector developed by us, with its excellent performance of detecting one part per million of hydrogen within 1 second, has been purchased and used by many leading domestic hydrogen energy enterprises and widely praised. This provides the strongest proof of the maturity and reliability of our technology.
Our vision is to use advanced sensing technology originating from China to provide thousands of SMEs with a high-quality leak detection tool that is affordable and trustworthy, contributing to the quality upgrade of "Made in China".
